WesternReserveRegion-CLC > And here we have the latest photos of Fred Zwicker's 1939 LaSalle Convertible Coupe, which has been undergoing restoration.

Waiting on bumpers to be chromed.
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > This is a side view. It sure looks nice!
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > Pulling into the garage.
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > I am a new member of your chapter from Columbiana, Ohio and am in process of a total restoration of my 1939 LaSalle Convertible Coupe. The first picture was taken about a week ago of my engine, after being rebuilt by Shepard's in Akron and installed in the car.
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > The second picture shows the car PRIOR to my restoration. All the car needed was some paint touchup and one thing led to another and I went for the full restoration, including engine removal as well as removal of everything except the firewall. This is my 2nd 1939 LaSalle, having restored a 4-door sedan in the late 1960s.
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > The third picture was taken about a month ago, with rear finished, waiting on the engine. When completed, I will forward some more photos. This car will be 100% original and I hope to show it at next year's Legacy show. We attended this year's Legacy show (in the rain), but the car was not finished at the time. We are restoring this car in our shop at TP Tools in Canfield, Ohio who sells glass bead cabinets and other restoration equipment to the antique car market. I am documenting this restoration with over 200 photos to date at www.fzoldcars.com

WesternReserveRegion-CLC > DeLoryes and Roger Hicks saw this 1949 Cadillac in Indiana -- completely covered in pennies -- and brought this postcard back to share with us.

There are 38,295 pennies on the Caddy. They were adhered, one at a time, using silicone, and they added a little over 200 pounds to the car's weight. The entire project was accomplished over a period of six weeks in the summer of 1999.

All of the pennies were attached head-side up, except four which are tail-side up. All of the pennies are Americna, and include:
-- an 1817 "big cent"
-- two error pennies, and
-- four 1943 steel pennies.
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > Jim and Val Jerome sent us these pictures for everyone to enjoy!
WesternReserveRegion-CLC > They came across this Cadillac while traveling through Arizona.
